Design Mock ups

Will the patient view the actual design on the ClinicalTrials.gov website? Do the mockups have to be based upon that website format?

    Hi jeentiff,

Thanks for writing. No, submissions to the Clinical Trial Visualization Redesign will not be displayed on ClinicalTrials.gov. ClinicalTrials.gov is just a resource that we've included to show you how clinical trial information is currently being presented.

You're encouraged to think beyond the current presentation and redefine how the content is displayed. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best,
    Megan

Can this be developed as a mobile app instead of a design mockup?

    Hi DanielW7,

Thanks for writing. This is what's stated in the challenge rules: "Designs should be implementable using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Submitting a working web or mobile application that incorporates the Design is optional, but not required."

So while submitting software is not required, you're welcome to do so in addition to the other submission requirements. Please note that you must meet all of the other submission requirements in order for your design to be eligible. That means that you'll still need to submit a visual representation of your design in the form of uploaded images. In addition to that, you need to include all of those images in a ZIP file that is uploaded to your submission.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

    All the best,
    Megan

    Hi,

Is it more a design challenge?
I think it needs a programmer only for the javascript part, but in nowadays a designer can do this alone with some concepts.

    Hi jluis859,

Yes, this is a design challenge, but both designers and developers are encouraged to enter, as mockups should ultimately be implementable in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

    Best,
    Megan
